To begin with I held a session with the client to understand their brand identity, who their audience is and the platforms they want to target their audience on. After learning that this client's business had no previous accounts on social platforms I really wanted to understand the image the client and business wanted to create for themselves before opening the accounts.
We held a few brainstorming sessions where we looked at creating a moodboard which then helped me to plan ideas for content that would be suited to their audience. The client was set on creating a vintage classic feel but for the modern day. I started by planning out a photoshoot of the cars. This included the location, the specific jaguar cars that were in the shop and could be photographed, equipment hire and photographer, as well as making a day plan.
On the day of the shoot, I worked closely with the photographer to direct and capture all the desired shots. We started by photographing some of the mechanics working on the vintage classic cars. This was great content as it showed the workshop in action as well as how professional the cars are treated. We next moved onto taking more close up pictures of the details of the cars both in the workshop and out. The reason for this content was purely for the audience. The type of audience viewing this content would likely have a big interest in the look of classic vintage cars. So these close up shots of detail would highly appeal to them. Now we had the photos it was time to start editing them to fit the feel of the workshop.Using Adobe light room we started editing the hues, brightness, levels and more. This was an important stage as it made the classic yet modern feel come to life. The high contrast gave the classic feel but the warm brightness allowed it to not look too dated. To create a vintage feel we made sure to highlight the iconic wood features in jaguar cars. We saved our presets for future photography and mapped out some basic templates for the platforms.
Next I looked into designing a basic calendar for posting on different platforms. The main 3 platforms the client wanted to use were instagram, facebook and linkedin. So I designed the calendar around promotional posts/marketing posts and which pictures would go on which platform. For higher reach on the posts, I used trending tags and captions to engage the audience. An overall guideline was put in place for the type of pictures to take in the future, the editing presets that should be used and the posting schedule. Now we were set to begin posting content.
